The new Andrew Garfield movie "The Uprising" is based on this revolt.
Lost my shit at turkey teeth 😂😂😂
Ironically Joe is right about the “Sovereign Citizens” movement in Canada, one of the first high profile cases up here involving them was a custody battle in Waterloo, Ontario that resulted in a dramatic arrest video.

Fuck you man, LOST is good, the ending makes sense if you were paying attention
Chicagos mayor is now Brandon Johnson who is also universally hated
St. Elsewhere is the show, from the 80's.
Tom is thinking about the Newhart. In this series finale Bob newhart's character from his titular show in the '70s wakes up and tells his wife about the dream he was having.
Could be Dallas too
Old slang for pocketwatch is “fob,” “fob” rhymes with “kettle and hob,” and the rhyming part gets dropped, leaving us with “kettle” for watch. Doug the Donkey is crying into their white Monster because some legionnaire knows this.
Icelandic folklore has an item to simulate "grots in my scrot". It's called nábrók (or necropants).

That outhouse had to be smelling wild after those peasants finally got the first taste of red meat and dairy
I wonder if Reverend Ball was an ancestor of Sargent big balls
"Does it look like Catman cares? Catman doesn't give a fuck!"
St. Elsewhere ??
Speaking as a Chicagoan, I’m grateful Lightfoot’s been out of office for a few years now. The new mayor is only marginally better, but it’s better than nothing, I think?
Manor lords brain taking over part way… I simply would have my taxes low and food diversity high to maintain a 70% approval for high family migration and sell the surplus goods from over production until I either crash the price of iron ingots or the game. Are these nobles stupid?
Only time my peasants get mad is when I cheap out on barley and malt imports during winter
I’m 42 and like military history podcasts. What is a D squared?
Delighted to have two plague eps in a row
I feel like the whole Robin Hood legend is a noble stealing valor from these dudes
In early Robin Hood stories (first written ones from mid 1400s, but based on much older oral traditions) Robin wasn't a noble. Only in the late 1500s was it decided that cool characters shouldn't be peasants
We have Sovereign Citizens in Australia too. I'm honestly not sure how they work in Australia because of different Constitutions but fuckwits are fuckwits wherever you go.
*across the plane
It took me a solid minute to realize that Tom started singing "Killing Me Softly with his Song" because you guys were riffing on Wyclef Jean. I genuinely somehow forgot that The Fugees recorded the possibly best-known but least-good version of that song.
1331 means this takes place 41 years before my DAV20 campaign huh!
Re: Turing to quote Pat The Bunny "Malcom X Never Lived to See the government fall but the post office made him a stamp. And that's the best you can hope for if you never give up your enemies will teach your corpse to dance."
Medieval blue tunic worker.
Tom, the US already Klarnaed an entire war, Joe and Nate bothed served it.
I hope y'all cover the Diggers in the English Civil War at some point
St Elsewhere
"taxing me softly" and the LLBD hanky code were both incredible bits
I would 100% wear a Saosin tunic if you made one!!
The book After the Black Death by George Huppert is a really good read I'd recommend. I don't agree with it all but it's a great Marxist social history that focuses on economic and social realities for ordinary people in the period.
Read it in grad school and I agree.
You turn on the porn blocker and they burn the bloody castle down
Hey some of us have priorities
I truly love your medieval work. One of these days, you'll get Dan Jones on. Maybe even a long series with Jones and Wyman. That'd be nuts.
Wat Tyler shit? Y'all could have at least done it in the relevant area.
WOOO series! Love the series' thanks for another one.
There are few things cooler than a Peasants Revolt. They're basically medieval Revolutions. Critical support to angry farmers with pitchforks and torches.
Of course we're revolting, we're English 😏
