EARLY EPISODE: The Attack on Mers El Kebir
Joe and Nate explore the time the French surrendered during WWII, leaving the British worried if their fleet was going to change sides and fight for the Nazis. Rather than waiting to find out, they conducted the naval equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel.

Nate with the Dido drop
Final instructions unclear- broke a machinegun and jammed brie into myself
Potemkin paper tiger. Potemkischespapiertiger best Neologism of the month.
Nate sighed at the resonant frequency of my car and scared the bejesus out of me.
Again I feel very cursed while listening to a WWII water battle. I spent a lot of my 20s playing Japanese mobile games about anthropomorphic WWII ships as anime girls, and my brain immediately pulls those visuals instead of imaging an actual boat. https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/wiki/Hood https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/wiki/Surcouf https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/wiki/Ark_Royal
A+ intro
A Paris Commune episode/ series would be cool. So much premium, A1 incompetence throughout
"I know I'm annoying! I just monetized it" is such a fun way to tell haters to get fucked. Love you guys
I love thinking that there is a French podcast about engineering disasters with slides called Oh là là, voici ton problème
Nate, you’re not annoying. We love you!
Another great episode
“I know I’m annoying, I just monetized it!” S tier level hustlin. (Nate’s fucking hilarious by the way and we all love his 10 minute diatribes)
Wait wait people hate Nate? Seeing he's on an episode when it drops is a highlight. Especially hearing about French stuff, it's awesome.
Any chance to cover the Business Plot? I feel it’s pretty timely
Hey it's one that I have a personal connection to. Time to disregard all common sense and go full Ed Hapsburg mode. Nah.
During and after WWII the allies had a term for the French: “Goose abusing surrender monkeys.”
Marcel d'Racisme from LLBR has returned to get bombed the fuck out lmao
VIVA LA FRANCE! (Deragatory)
Very happy Nate snuck in the the Combat Of The 30 episode at the end. Probably my favorite episode of this show. Fuck the haters
All of my parents’ kitchen appliances (well, the built-in ones) are from Bosch. They live in suburban Chicago. This is because they hired an insane Serbian kitchen designer who ripped them off, though they eventually got their kitchen more or less as it was supposed to be.
Is there a longer, downloadable version of the LLBD intro song?
Fuck the Nate haters
Nate’s great. Who hates Nate ?
I've been waiting for this episode for years. an classic story for LLBD
What’s the name of the Dutch government’s “I can take em!” book? I’ve got a Wikipedia page to read
I dont know what the exact name of the book was but I know the Dutch plan "Fortress Holland" was their goofball plan. In the once-in-a-lifetime time I will defend the Dutch, it was pretty much the Belgian plan from WW1 which did actually work shockingly well including blowing dykes and bridges to essentially turn the Netherlands into an inland sea and when Germany invaded Norway had actually been holding out pretty well against the Wehrmacht so stupid but not insanely stupid.
DONK 🫏 TIME!!!!!
DONK DONK DONK DONK
