EARLY EPISODE: The Cadiz Expedition
The English launch a raid against the Spanish city of Cadiz. Instead of planning anything whatsoever, the English get drunk on the beach and die.
Correction: James VI/James I. Not James IV

My favorite part of the French Match was when Buckingham and Charles left Spain, having promised they'd accept Spain's stipulations so Charles could marry the princess, and graciously accepted all the best artworks as an engagement gift. Then when they got home, they claimed they never agreed to the marriage - but they did Not return the artwork. Extremely strong rec to Lucy Hughes-Hallet's book about Buckingham, 'the scapegoat'.
Finally getting around to listening to this on my way to work this morning. Shot white Monster out of my nose driving down the interstate during the small domino-big domino twink death sequence. Well done boys.
Love the reference to FF7 and Cross Dressing Cloud. Majestic.
The show “George and Mary” is about George Villiers and his scheming mother (played by Julianne Moore). I haven’t finished it but the first episode is very silly and pretty fun
Impressive. Not a single "Ca-DEEZ NUTS" joke.
Ultimate restraint
Like a mini version of the Fleet of The Damned
The cold opens are so good
Nearly spat out my gum over the pedophiles talking to God comment.
He ain’t wrong
Tom immediately refers to present day Spanish…. What’s the slur in ye old Spanish… the m word… Nate research this!
I’m pretty sure the one he’s referencing would have also been understood at the time!
The Detroit was a ship. It is an LCS Freedom Class ship 😂😂 LCS 7. I was a pipe welder on it.
I come for the history but I STAY for the Dürer lino cut references… And oh god I just remembered I’m the descendant of original Norfolk Islanders……..this explains so much.
Now that I think of it, the godfather of the E-4 mafia should be designated by a shoulder patch of an electrical socket.
Yeah, there's the Duke of Buckingham! James' biggest crush/lover.
In regards to Nate's comment about terrible James, James VI was James I. I'm pretty sure Joe got IV and VI confused for this one
You are correct. He meant James VI.
Hell yeah, starting out strong with fish flavored explosive diarrhea 😎🫡
