Nascar's race in Indianapolis is actually called the Brickyard 400, it isnt the Indy 500 that Indycar runs. Terrible episode smh my head
Fun Fact: RoboCop was actually plagiarized. It was originally pitched by Harlan Ellison and Ben Bova as “Brillo”, based on their short story of the same name. The story was published around 1970 in a sci-fi magazine. They later pitched an adaptation of Brillo for Television and were shot down by an executive who’d go on to steal the idea, retooled it a little, and BAM. RoboCop. Turns out it’s IP theft all the way down guys. Original ideas are something of an artistic fallacy.
The intro is some quality Johnny Mnemonic product placement.
Elon Musk wants to make neurolink so he can call it USB type X which works on humans and chappies.
Her last name rhymes with pisser
Looking forward to seeing a York Automatons t-shirt
please
Me? I’m just an honest farmer workin’ the land with simple, locally sourced tools, handcrafted in the hot blue flame of the Dwarven forge that my grandpappy built with his strong Dwemer hands when he first moved to this country. The Dwemer Automatons we build at York may vary in shape and size, but they all function in a similar way. They are non-living constructs that cannot be detected with Detect Life or Detect Undead. Unlike our competitors lower quality Automatons, our Automatons are hand crafted in small batches to have an innate immunity to paralysis. They cannot be ragdolled and have a permanent Waterbreathing ability that is backed by our famous lifetime warranty*. We also build our Automatons with a natural immunity to frost and poison damage, and an industry leading 25% resistance to all magic damage. *contrary to what one might expect from reading the “Ruins of Kemel-Ze”, our carefully forged artisan Automatons are not immune to shock, shock will cause them normal damage and will void our robust lifetime warranty.
I had to rewatch this without mind altering substances for the first time ever recently....holy fuck it hits different..and not in a good way...i still kinda like it in a weird way..it was just a LOT better with drugs
Can the gang please review Patlabor movies?
2nd one goes so hard but I don't know what the boys can say about it without getting really hardcore into the philosophy of dealing death from behind a facade of peacekeeping, and imperialism by different names. I would love to see Tom and Nate really get into it but I don't know if that works with the rest of this podcast's output lol. Like they make elaborate bits about shitty films, what are they going to say about a really gorgeously animated film that deals with themes that have only gotten more and more relevant with time? Introduce it with a York automaton joke then say "Its a really good film, thanks for listening to this episode"?
I need Alvin York automatons as merch now.
As someone who is around work visa white South Africans on a regular basis, Tom’s accent really isn’t far off. All it needs is a heavy dose of casual racism lol
There are things I like about Chappie and every time I think about them I remember Ninja.
This is where illegal blacksmithing gets us.
Can you micro dose battery acid? Maybe there are mental health benefits. Can you guys please lay off the Rosemary Kennedy jokes. She doesn’t deserve that. You could have easily substituted her for Bobby’s brain worms and made the same point. I would love to tape Robert Heinlein to a chair, pour a can of gasoline on him. Make him watch Chappie…and wait for him to beg for me to toss him a lit match. Asimov would just be like, “yep.” (Whatever the Yiddish version of “yep” is). I wish you guys could interview Nick Bostrom about Chappie. Thank you for the call back to Clayton Bigsby. “I hate Chappie processors using all the white man’s electricity. Big wide capacity storage - I don’t need a terabyte. Human Power!” “Let your computer hate out.”
You son of a... I made my girlfriend watch Chappie with me because you kept suggesting it in other podcasts.
Sorry guys, i gotta say it feels like y'all just didn't watch the movie correctly. Like the whole point of Ninja and his gang is that they are TERRIBLE PEOPLE. They're explicitly ridiculous and don't even do crime well.
I never played MGSV, because I had already been disenchanted with Kojima at the time. I was really annoyed by Quiet being overly-sexualized and that SPOILERS Big Boss wasn't the actual Big Boss, so there would be nothing added to the canon of Ocelot being hot for Big Boss, which is the best and most consistent part of the series.
Can we stop with the cold opens?
Probably the hardest episode to get through. Can we just go back to goon caves please?👏
Never before an episode of Donkeys made me laugh my ass off or quiver in disgust back to back this frequently.
Damn it man, you had a perfectly good chance to use "ACAB - Assigned Cop At Birth" and you missed it.
I didn’t want the bit to end
The Chappy episode is out, hope our boy Nick is watching (listening?)
idk man that feels like juggalo slander
Nice. Chappie sounds fun. Also, check what Gundam neo-Iraq's name is in g Gundam for your next episode, it's wild. I think you only catch a quick glimpse of it in the series but it's there.
ohmygod googled it and was Not prepared
The most excited any person has been for Chappie was me when I saw ya’ll finally do an episode for it.
Los locos kick your ass. Los locos kick your face. Los locos kick your balls into outer space! Johnny 5 did it better than Chappie
FROGGY FRESH FUCKING REPRESENT.
KRISPEY KREME AND MONEY MAKER MIKE
I love the stupid and goofy openers you guys have been doing.
I’m gonna put a salt life sticker on my Subaru and date Joe’s mom
You’re thinking of ED-209, Joe. The giant killer robot that can’t walk down stairs.
That's the only thing I remember about it. Also, I think it was stop-motion animated because it was before CGI and didn't have the crazy-high budget that you'd need for a great costume or some kind of animatronic.
Ninja looks like if Matthew Lillard was a crackhead.
I would kill for a Hard-core Henry review
Damn it, as a white guy from Nebraska I now have to watch Chappie 😂
Finally!
York automatons... does the upload come with an included religious fanaticism?
