It wouldn't be hard to get Goku on the Confederate side just tell him the union army is really strong he will want to fight them
*Cringes in Norwich University* Not ALL but fuck the rest for being pro-confederacy.
One of my favorite trivia facts about the civil war is that Union soldiers were completely confused by the rebel yell, “yeehaw.” They would write in their letters it was like being charged by an army of turkeys.
Also, I saw The Mars Volta live at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, Washington years ago. They were excellent, but after they yelled at the crowd for moshing, the crowd started throwing bottles of piss onstage and the band walked off mid-set. The RHCP then came out and admonished the crowd. Wild stuff.
I FIGHTS MIT SIEGEL!!!
I saw ATDI after relationship came out. Vaya is their best record imo but they were killer live.
I think at this point Tom qualifies as an SCP Cognito hazard. I'm starting to flinch whenever he opens his mouth. The only phrase I can remember from this entire nearly two hour long podcast is "Lead Bukkake".
The fact that a ginormous number of German immigrants were abolitionist revolutionaries might help explain why the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America is the way that it is.
steiner math 😎
The Dark Souls undead damage noise was perfect.
Tropic thunder
The "Ice Cream truck Bang Bus" quip might lowkey be a contender for the most fucked up thing anyone's said on this show. It's on Tom's highlight reel for certain.
Sounds like an awesome Ska band name.
Was confirmed as St. Sebastian in an exceedingly homophobic rural Texas diocese for the exact same reason Nate shared. Could hide the queer connection by just deflecting to him being the patron saint of athletes. It’s always funny how quickly Catholic queers clock it. Thanks for sharing, Nate!
I watched that movie “Field of Lost Shoes” and for years I had no idea it was about the Battle at New Market. All confederate douches here in Georgia treat that films like a family heirloom.
Not only did Abe Lincoln wrestle, but he invented the chokeslam when his opponent hit him with a dirty move and he responded by picking the guy up by his neck.
I had no idea Abe Lincoln was a champion wrestler. But then he did like getting up close and personal with men on occasion.
I chose to believe that he invented the choke-slam...
Grew up in the Shenedoah Valley and during grade school we went to the field of the battle at the New Market museum and I still remember wondering why they never talked about any details about the battle… now I know why.
New Braunfels is awesome. When I was at Ft. Hood, we used to drive down there and hit up Schlitterbahn. I almost got laid on the lazy river once.
Traumatic head injuries ftw. Between football and being an outdoor goon. Also, side note my son is directly related to said Breckenridge via his mom. Gotta stamp that racism out early.
Missouri still has small pockets of their own German dialect. the winery town of Hermann was founded by Germans before the Civil War cos it reminded them of the Rhine Valley lol

Hey, Tom... you ever heard about bad luck 13 riot extravaganza? I got to see em twice... they were out of Philly and I'm in Pittsburgh..... it was like a ticket to a bar fight in wrestlemania. https://youtu.be/KV5H7LbVrnc?si=N0Q2a94u2UEKjj86
was it John Denver that took a chainsaw and sawed his marital bed in half when his wife asked for a divorce?
Tom cracked me up with the line about the only guy in here large enough to enjoy Crowbar!
Same. Tbh if your slow heavy band doesn't have at least one fat guy in it it probably sucks
Back in the 1800s they had to use black powder cannons to atomize racist school children. Now we just do Xbox live ban waves
As someone that lives near Staunton, no one says the U. It's always said "Standt-ton". Or Stan-Ton.
came to say this lol; not from or living there, but know people from nearby. Apocryphal story was that they put it there so they could identify people who weren’t actually from there during the civil war; sounds fake to me lol
As a live show attendee - just want to say thanks again for a wonderful show! Now what are the odds that amazing NGE intro video could somehow make its way onto the Patreon?
I can’t wait for the day when yall come back to your roots and do a live show in the PNW. Great job on your live versions and I hope yall will come some day.
I’m sorry how the hell do you know what skyline chili is?
Great live episode. (Dad of two VMI grads).
Nate singing that song slaps!
My mom went to Husker du concerts in the early 80s in Minneapolis as an artsy punk girl. I've been hearing about your niche post punk shit since birth. I am the target audience of Nate's bull shit
"Relationship of Command" is really good so far
The audio quality is awesome for a live recording. Thanks gents!
ELEVEN OUT OF TEN, WOULD RECCOMEND!
Well done on the Scott Steiner speech, Tom!
