Fun fact about the PIAT- that and the Panzerschreck both used sheet steel instead of copper as the liners on the shaped charge. Since it’s less ductile, it makes a worse superplastic penetrator than copper does. It also means that they’re much more vulnerable to standoff distance changes than other HEAT weapons, you start seeing a drop off in effectiveness with a meter of added distance.
The zoo crew discussing girl dinner is peak questions from the legion.
See I'm kinda with Joe and the Zoo Crew with jobs. I started doing mental health work about a month ago, and it turns out I'm fucking fantastic at it and I like what I do a lot. I bust my ass every day, but it's worth it. We'll see if I still feel the same way in a decade but hey.
Today I learned that hugtight glue from The Twits was real
My first thought as well
Dawg, I think I get it — you're a knowledge dealer. Same here, and I love it 😭
“Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach. Those who can’t teach, administrate.”
Joe's "if I don't like something, I won't put in the effort to care" is incredibly relatable to me, perhaps partially rooted in my autism/ADHD.
Cursed idea for a tshirt: a unit tshirt that looks totally legit and it's like, "Prince Andrew's Rifles". You wont sell a single one but it'll look funny on a store page.
That was pretty much a real regiment. The East Yorkshire regiment was known as "The Duke of York's Own". It merged into other regiments years ago and I think it's all just The Yorkshire Regiment now...
In which the Zoo Crew crack open a cold one with the Boys
Does everyone in the army lose their gallbladder?
and here i thought they only stole my youth
It's been too long since a Zoo Crew episode
As soon as I saw the episode title I checked the credits, and YES it includes Ian Hogg's Tank Killers! I love that book! It's what first got me interested in tanks
Can we have a wagon manifest episode guys?
after hooligans is all uploaded the next audiobook project is Joe reads his undergrad thesis out on the patreon
Love the zoo crew episodes!
Shock's description of pita's travels makes me think of Mr Burns' teddy bear Bobo
I'm just imagining somebody getting the bomb stuck to their pants and having to take them off and chuck them at a Panzer and how absolutely confusing it would be for a German crew to see that
Wasn't there like a Panzer 4 that got blown up in Syria?
Even though I was Air Force… I was in aviation as a flight line mechanic and flight engineer… I get it. I loved my job but I hated Air Forcing outside of my squadron where I guess there's rules that you need to follow…
TF2 Demoman was historically accurate
I’m a simple man. I see Zoo Crew episode, I upvote.
Actually, in many ways, Hitler and Winston were quite similar in their love of weird shit weaponry. They were both also racist as fuck. Still, at least Winston got out of the way of his weird weapons designers.
The PIAT reminds me of Company of Heroes, specifically when they put out the second expansion which added the Kangaroo troop carrier (which itself is just a turret less tank, an M4 perhaps?) and you could create mobile, anti-tank Death Stars by shoving a bunch of PIAT equipped Sappers into a Roo and driving it around, nuking practically any tank you came across thru sheer volume of PIAT bombardment.

Good ol Radioactive Boy Scout
