What's in store for August!

Hey folks! July is just about wrapped up, so I want to share with you everything that's planned for August. But first, here's how Wan-Wan Wash is coming along...

I've created all the UI assets for Wan-Wan Wash and have been slowly adding them to the game. you would not believe how long I was messing around with the colors of this game...for some reason I couldn't get anything that satisfied me. but I LOVE the end results! its got such a cozy, early y2k ds game kind of vibe.

Next up is adding some functionality to the dogs (the eyeless beagle is just a placeholder image lol, it will be more animated soon!) then adding the dressup menu. :D :D :D

btw I'm hoping to add some cute inspirational quotes that pop up while you're washing pups. Feel free to share your ideas in my youtube post, and I'll start adding them in!

My Next Video...

you guys don't know this, but during July I was already working on my next video. I was conducting interviews with various indie developers who make physical copies of their games. Yes, the next video is about physical media in games! I've wanted to do this video ever since Nintendo announced around the time of the Switch 2's release that their game cards generally do not contain games anymore, but the recent announcement from Sony that they were doing the same for their disks reminded me that it was an even more important topic. I'm super excited to share the progress on that!

I'm Hosting a Live Game Show! + BONUS GAME!

You may have heard me talk about this on instagram and elsewhere, but on August 13th, I will be hosting a live game show produced by my friends called Couch Quests. It's basically a really fun minigame compilation played with local people in front of a live studio audience. If you're in the Boston Area, it's totally free! I hope you can come by.

And you heard that right, I made a BONUS GAME that will be featured on the show. It will be set up during the finale. I have already started work on it in July, but put it on hold for wan-wan wash. Very excited to debut it on the show and upload it to itch.io later~

Possible Work Trip End of August

Sometimes, I wonder if karmically in another life I did something REALLY awesome, because just when I was starting to worry about how my finances would shake out in the wake of the whole harassment nonsense, I got a call from my old boss! He needs a few extra hands to help build a haunted house on the west coast (August is when amusement parks start gearing up for the halloween season) and was wondering if I could jump in. The pay for these jobs was the BEST, and if I go out to work for just 1 week, I will recoup all the money I spent on a lawyer!! I expect to hear more details about the job within the next week or so. So anticipate that the last bit of August, I will probably be AFK. But I'm going to do my best to get August's game done by then, and if necessary, I talked to a friend of mine about helping me edit the physical media video so it will release while I'm gone.

August's Game?

As if I wasn't going to be busy enough, I still have to set up a vote for August's game -- but that will happen after Wan Wan Wash is done. So stay tuned~

That's all for now!! pretty exciting stuff on the horizon. I'm gonna be nice and busy for August, and I'm honestly looking forward to it after effectively a few months of sitting on my hands with one project and one video. Anyway, here's your sign-off joke:

Q: What happened when the dog went to the flea circus?

A: He stole the show! 🐶
