amongst the coral reefs...

hey folks! Hope you had a nice 3-day weekend (if you're in the US). It rained like crazy here in Boston, so I skipped the traditional corn dog and opted on working on the game. The entire background of the game is DONE, and I must say it looks so cute and pink and perfect!!! but now I must start the meticulous work of filling in the environment with puzzles.

Above is a screenshot of the level editor. the dark purple blocks are the "walls" that Lani can't swim through, but they won't be visible in the final game.

I decided I really liked the photograph coral reef background I used as a placeholder (from pexels, so free for me to use!) I made it tileable and removed the fishes.

Then I went in and added a new "speck" particle to simulate the little ones that float around in the ocean. I also went in and polished up the fishes so they are actual cute tropical fish, instead of the sort of half-assed grey ones I had before. And voila!

I feel like the world looks so alive now! very proud of it.

Okay, so what's going on with puzzles: there are only 15 puzzles in the game to keep it a reasonable play-size, but I have to add them in one at a time, since the behaviors of each object will have unique functions. I will share as many as possible without spoiling the game!

In regards to the situation with lawyers and harassment; I haven't heard back from any of the lawyers that I've reached out to so far. It's really frustrating because I can't upload any new videos (on youtube) without getting this issue resolved. but I'm trying to stay positive! thanks everyone for sticking around and supporting.
