Additive Synthesis Magical Mystery Tour (including resynthesis...)
Hi!
About a month ago a Patron asked me to add a description of how Tonewheel organs work to my book (spoiler: electromechanical additive synths...). Then a couple of weeks ago Arturia asked if I'd like to take a peek at a beta of Pigments 3, which has a new Additive synthesis engine. Those two were enough of a sign from the universe that it's time to take a deep dive into Additive Synthesis...
The result is this video, and a new chapter with even more information that will be added to the next book update. In both I cover Additive Synthesis and Resynthesis, across multiple synths, including Alchemy, Loom II, Pigments 3, Polyphylla and Razor.
I learned a lot - hopefully you will too!
All my best,
Ziv (resynthesizing on youtube as "Loopop"...)

Have you ever played around with the Kawai K5000 or K5? I Actually won a K5 in a raffle, but then it died a few years later. But I liked it so much a bought the K5000. Great additive synth!
I've not! Hope to have an opportunity to try it. Thanks for your ongoing support BTW...
Bloody good explanations and presentation. You're still the best!
Thanks very much!
Great video ! Thanks !
Hi Loopop, O finally an additive synth tutorial featuring Loom II, an incredibly detailed piece of software. Would you please take a deep dive into Loom II in a future video because the number of controls is overwhelming and I need someone with your expertise to hack a path into the wilderness? Many thanks from an additive synth beginner!
showing this to my brother, since he adores synth theory :)
Great!
Awesome! 🧡
Thanks!
Can’t wait to see the next update 🎉
Thank you :)
