Evil Pet Review + HQ audio // Live granular techniques explored

Hi!

Evil Pet from Endorphin.es is, relatively speaking, a minimalist granular synth, but that's part of its charm: hands-on control with a simple screen showing what's going on. That said, it has a few live granular tricks up its sleeve. Oh, and it's got a built-in FM radio too, which is one of my favorite starting places for musical inspiration.

Evil Pet got me digging quite a bit into what's possible with live granular and a few other granular techniques - those are coming up in this month's book update for Waveshapers later today, and some are in the video too.

Most of these techniques apply to other granular synths, so if you've got one around the house, hopefully this inspires a bit of weekend tinkering!

Yours,

Ziv (breaking down granular grains on a youtube channel called "Loopop"...)
