June 2025 book update!
Dear WaveShapers,
This month's update is a new chapter that focuses on the topic of the "Missing Piece" video I recently published.
One of the additions I'm most pleased with in my studio is the second pair of speakers, located on the rear left and rear right of my seating position. Surprisingly, it's not about Atmos or quad music (though they're helpful for that too), but rather because of how much it enhances the experience of making music on the left and right "stations" in the room, and the ease with which I can swap their "operating modes" (especially "Fun Mode"! check the update for more...).
Anyway, as per all my content, the idea is to transfer over all the relevant information from the video into the book, and then to continue updating it as the experience and my knowledge about the topic grow (already testing one more interesting way to solve this problem)
Here's a summary of what you'll find in the chapter (search for JUN2025 or hop on over to page 594 in the PDF):
Four reasons why you might want multiple speakers:
Making mixes that translate
Hearing stereo outside the sweet spot
Getting a good taste of Atmos music and surround videos
The fun factor of stereo music all around you, as opposed to coming from one direction
Tips on wiring such a setup
Ideas for solving the challenges/problems related to managing multiple speakers
That's it for this month, and as usual, but never taken for granted, thanks for being here!
All my best,
Ziv / Loopop
