Triple feature! Book update + Muse & Delia multisamples
Dear WaveShapers,
OK, here we go—a triple feature: the July book update and the promised multi-sampled instruments of Muse (21 instruments) and Delia (14 instruments). For Delia, I didn't sample the "standard synth sounds" which it's also capable of (you have some of that in the Nina multisamples), but rather more of what I felt differentiates its character from other synths, so expect more sounds with drive and wavetables.
Here's what's new in this month's book update (search for JUL2024 to skip between the updates):
I was quite smitten by Muse's note probability feature. Some aspects of it (coin toss lane, inversions) are too hard to replicate easily without involving some sort of programming, but the very charming generative melodic randomization is something you can try at home with Ableton Live, a sequencer by Squarp, and I'm sure other tools too - all this and more added to the generative tips part of the book
New Turing machine tips inspired by Labyrinth
New tips for avoiding latency in hardware and hybrid setups
New tips for making the most of my sample packs (and any MPC keygroup instrument for that matter)
LFO tip added – a way that might help get per trig randomization on synths that don’t have that mod source
Links to bonus content added
That's it for now - as usual but never taken for granted, thanks for being here!
