Flutist reacts: This was happening in 2012!🤯|L'Arc-en-Ciel, My Heart Draws a Dream

I imagine you would be a major fan if you had been a teenager in Japan in the 90s. (L’Arc en Ciel are a second wave Visual Kei band which is kind of a Japanese post glam movement founded by X Japan. Don’t feel too out of touch they were huge in Asia in their heyday and there’s lots of fans from then living in LA and NYC, also I only discovered this band from exploring J Rock going down the rabbit hole. Hyde does play guitar sometimes…@

L’Arc’s guitarist is Ken….SAKI posted recently on she enjoys learning his guitar parts with Like an Angel, Tetsuya’s project band she is a member of….here a link to one of my fave L’Arc songs “Blurry Eyes” https://youtu.be/jKbS5Bqp9Tw?is=e9bU6g8Mw2DOVMvu

Here's a fun mini-connection to another channel favorite... When Saki left Nemophila, she joined Like An Angel, which is Tetsuya's side project.

Thank you for this, sincerely my heart. L'arc en-ciel was the first Jrock band to headline at the Madison Square Garden. The yave been together since '91 in this formation. You'll be glad to know they are still together. This is their 35th year and are on tour celebrating this milestone :) The intro that guitarist Tetsuya played to this is song is stretched out in time, to add the Pink Floyd and bluesy aspect, it woked :) Their popularity exploded in the USA in 2000's riding on the anime/Jrock/jpop wave. They performed the second opening theme for 2003's Full Metal Alchemist [not Brotherhood] and an opening or closing theme for some FMA movies. 2012 is like yesterday for me :) Like many Japanese music artists, Hyde has done solo work and crossover band work. Most notably with Vamps in the late 2010's. Just like how Fuki jumps in with Gachspin do Doll$Boxx collabs. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

As far as I know they're still together. They performed live as recently as '25. The lead singer Hyde was also part of the brief supergroup The Last Rockstars (Miyavi, Yoshiki, Hyde and Sugozi) who did some shows in '23(?) In LA and NYC. They had an opening act you may have heard of at some point..Band-Maid
