This also happens to me when I have Steam and Armoury Crate up on my Ally. My work-around has been using the touch screen so far.

I have loaded the latest version with the 1.0.1.5 driver, but the Gyro will not work. Also, there is no longer a 3D Controller view option in the quick menu. Was that removed or do I have a bigger issue? I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, but no success. I do notice when I perform the uninstall it says some components could not be removed and would have to be manually. Are there complete manual uninstall instructions somewhere or is the error normal?

I have same problem, it work at the beginning but when I try to create a profile and then redeploy the app the gyro stops working, even with 1.0.1.5...

Love the progress on the gyro universal control. Great improvement since the last build using right stick emulation. Night and day difference that allows me to play FPS in a new style, which is very valuable. DS4+Steam is still not working in any usable capacity, experiencing very high levels of drift/jitter. The suggestion in GitHub to use Motion Assistants implementation of mouse emulation may be worth looking into. I think having a mouse based gyro would be a really killer feature here.

The big issue for me presently is that I get very inconsistent results when waking from sleep and hibernating. Sometimes I can restart the service and sometimes I have to restart my Ally to get controls working again when using steam games with steam input controls. I would make fixing this top priority when cutting the next release since its a blocker to using basic app functionality.

It did work before but now it's not working anymore :,(, i stop service and deploy again, I'm in 1.0.1.5, I even reinstall but the gyro in the 3d controller moves extremely slow...

Unfortunately the gyro Drift in ds4 Emulation Mode together with Steam Input still occurs. Does anyone having the Same Problem? In Addition, gyro calibration in Steam doesn't Work. When Putting the Ally on a flat surface and clicking the calibration Button in Steam , the Progress bar for calibration is Not going up. IT feels Like that the gyro is Not giving any Output when laying flat on the surface. Or IT IS filtered Out.

Now i Tested IT also in MW2 and Fortnite with the native gyro Implementation and Ally in ds4 Emulation Mode. Unfortunately i observe the Same behavior but Not as extreme AS in Steam Input. ITS Not drifting but jumping slightly around instead of being stable. Im really asking myself If IT IS an Hardware issue. Does anyone Else have this behavior?

Can you please also make the auto TDP min value starts from 20-25.... some old games don't need to have 30fps to play with

M

Could you make the Playstation virtual controller to be detected by DS4Windows just like rewasd does?

Shawn Bay · June 26, 2023

So, just want to report with Armoury Crate installed on the ROG Ally, if you so much as bring up the AC quick menu it'll take over the TDP settings. Is there any way to have HC check every so often if it has control of the TDP and if it doesn't, take control again? I like a lot of the features of AC but I like using HC for TDP control.

K
Keith Leyson · June 27, 2023

Only solution to all the hassle is to disable the 2 services for Armoury Crate.

B
Brandon Summers · June 26, 2023

omg please figure out how to add these quick controls as widgets in game bar that would be a smash!! forget the whole quick UI add them all to native gamebar toggles!

Faris RIz · June 26, 2023

is it possible to save all the settings from the previous patch so that if I upgrade the software all the settings is not reset?

T
Taylor Whitesides · June 26, 2023

Can you make the auto tdp incremental by 1 instead of 5? I specifically see things great at 47 hertz. That's the sweet spot for battery too.

I must be as dumb as a sack of spanners but I can't find the option to change controller number?

M
Mozgus · June 25, 2023

My Xbox guide button functionality doesn't work. It didn't work in AC either. I hoped that uninstalling AC entirely with their uninstaller and trying HC would fix this but it did not. To be hyper specific, I only have 10 buttons in the windows USB Game Controllers panel. It should show like 16 buttons and 11 is the guide button. 12-16 are unused. That'd how it works on a real PC anyway. Anyone have any idea how to restore the Xbox guide button?

Hello, thanks for the update, but I have an issue, since the update, on the Ally rtss and hwinfo won't start with HC, how to force launch them when hc starts? thanks --- solved no issues anymore !

H
Handheld Companion · June 25, 2023

They're supposed to be started/stopped only when needed.

J
Javier Gonzalez · June 25, 2023

is there a way to assign a hot key to a combination such as m1+options button?

H
Handheld Companion · June 25, 2023

It should work but I was reported otherwise. We're looking into it.

Rog Ally occasionally loses mouse control with desktop enabled. Also, sometimes the quick menu stops working. Might be associated with sleep mode or screen shut off. Love HC though! Quick reboot solves it when it occurs. (Controller still functions when this happens) (Both AC services are off) Also, how do we install the gyro driver? (Could the mouse cursor disappearing be associated with that?)

H
Handheld Companion · June 25, 2023

Thanks for you feedbacks. There is a known issue with Controller on sleep resume, we're working on it. To install gyro, download the zip archive attached to the latest release, extract it, double click on install drivers. Start HC.

Furinex Voltaire · June 25, 2023

Great update. So far the gyro connected right up so that’s an immediate improvement. The quick access menu should be an overlay, not a window. It’s booting the user out of games that are full screen when accessed with the hotkey shortcut. This is not only very annoying but can cause games to automatically change their in game settings to borderless. Also the profiles don’t attach to games very well. I find myself using just the default profile and making any changes I need per game before I enter the game still. If I allow per game profiles it just doesn’t detect the game properly on the ally. Maybe it’s because of armory crate but either way it’s tough to get around without just resorting to using the default profile and adjusting it for every game. Maybe an exclusion list would be good, so we can tell HC to ignore other overlays like armory crate

H
Handheld Companion · June 25, 2023

Thanks for your feedbacks. You're making a point, I totally forgot to exclude all AC related processes on HC. Will work on a fix. OK the overlay windows, it's a tricky topic that we're trying to figure. How to summon the window without stealing focus, etc..
