0.29.0.4 - Collections, Configurable Managers and Stability Fixes
Dear Patreons, thank you as always for your testing, reports, and continued support.
With this build, we're bringing several meaningful improvements: Intel TDP support is back across the board, HC's internal managers are now individually toggleable, the Library has received its most substantial update in several builds, and two long-standing threading issues causing random deadlocks have been resolved. Alongside all of that, the usual round of bug fixes, performance improvements and UI refinements.
Highlights
Intel TDP support restored Windows' Smart App Control. Windows Smart App Control, which can silently prevent HC from performing power manipulation on Intel devices, is now detected by HC and user will be offered to disable it via the Device page. This should restore TDP and power profile functionality across Intel-based handhelds while we look for an alternative API.
Performance, library, and GPU managers can now each be individually toggled on or off. This means HC can coexist more cleanly with other tools — if you manage your library, GPU and/or power settings elsewhere, you can now tell HC to step aside without the two clashing.
The Library page has received some of its most significant changes in recent builds. Collection management is now implemented with full create/delete support, game rendering is faster and memory usage is more contained. Microsoft Store titles can now be scanned and included alongside your other games via the library update button.
Better resume from sleep - Our virtual controller library, ViGEm, has been updated to tentatively address the long-standing virtual controller instability on system resume from sleep and hibernation, one of the most reported pain points over the past several builds.
