Windows Update Alert: KB5086672

Dear all, we've been made aware of a compatibility issue between HC and the Windows Update KB5086672. When installed, this update will likely break the controller support.

We're investigating the issue and recommend anyone using HC not to install this update yet.

EDIT (08/04/2026): Issue was fixed with latest early access release: 0.28.6.10 - Performance Improvements and OpenXInput Support | Patreon.

What do you mean by 'break controller support'? My claw seems to be working fine, but I can't get my 8bitdo controller to work.

We're loosing the ability to figure which userIndex (slot) is used by an XInput controller. We might have a solution and are going to conduct testing sessions today.
