A Sinister Six!

Hey y'all!

So today I figured I'd share a little bit of a small project I've been doing this week that started kind of out of nowhere.

So at the start of the week I wasn't sure what to draw for stream and ended up doodling this Venom. Innocent enough, just a Venom, no big.

And that at the time was that, or so I thought. Next day brought more Spidey vilain sketches and this quickly became a small thing that we'd tinker with over the course of the week on streams. After Venom, getting Carnage and Mysterio.

Once these were out there I thought to myself, well I need to at least get to six. That way if this fizzles out or I lose interest I can at the very least say I did my own take on the Sinister Six. So to round it out we did Kraven, Dock Ock and Electro.

So there we have it, six villains, all sketched on stream and a fun time to doodle. But what is the point? Well I'm glad you asked. The point is that for me anyways, creating even micro narratives when drawing something (a character, item etc) helps me immensely. It keeps me invested in the work and keeps the brain spinning on ideas of why something is the way it is. Why a character design is a certain way and I wanted to explore this idea and to show that even when doing fanart you can bring original ideas and thoughts to it and have fun. So I set out to describe my villains and wanted to use other interests I have, specifically in the horror/weird fiction genre and some eldritch stuff to twist and shape the origins of my interpretations of these villains. So this is just the first post for this, I'll make another one once all the art is done and that will have more thoughts on narrative fueled design as well as the actual blurbs for each villain. So I hope you like this little into to this idea and as always thank you for the continued support! We're at time of writing 11 patrons away from the sketchbook goal so maybe we'll get there.
