Monthly sketchbook - August 2025

Hey folks,

So here is the monthly sketchbook post covering August. I had a lot of work this month but still managed to get a bit of sketching in. Starting off the month I was noodling some Dr Doom stuff and general comic book things. A bit of Kermit/Frog Thor for fun and then I drew this random bug with a camera wrapped around it. Not really sure why I think it was just a fun thing that happened when I read the term shutter bug so drew it. Maybe it could make a fun sticker or something. Next up was some sketches of a food truck sort of thing riffing on an idea my buddy Will had for a game. Maybe it will go further eventually but who knows, I sort of just sketch during conversations as it helps my brain better process what I am hearing.

After those I did a bit of sketching of possible ideas for things to test out my new markers on. I thought it could be fun to maybe re-imagine some of the classic Street Fighter 2 character portraits and it's definitely something I would like to get back to eventually whether in markers or for maybe a fun print or something down the road.

Then I did a bit of turtle sketching, some different ideas and styles just kind of kicking things around. Closing out the month of sketching was a rough for a new KL piece I started working on and then a rough sketch mock up for a game idea I had that was like a super chill lofi guitar hero type of thing. I just kind of wanted to see the pieces together and see how they could fit.

That is all for now though, I hope you enjoy the sketches.
