Another glimpse into Alex's childhood memories reveals the power of the dagger. He uses it in his struggle to free himself from the belly of the beast, with explosive results!
The flashback sequence is to tie back to the earlier pages where we saw a young Alex facing the Red Bride entity. It's also a chance to explain how he inherited the dagger and bring everything to a close in the final battle.
I've been churning these pages like mad during this lock-down period to keep myself productive and as a distraction from the anxiety inducing series of bad news out there. We are almost the end of this story, so keep a lookout for its conclusion soon!

Absolutely loving this series- the pacing, the narrative lines, the flashbacks; especially love the (very effective!) lack of dialogue. Pure visual storytelling :)
Perfect last panel- our heroes walking out of the haunted house dripping with 1980s red glycerine goop. Maybe they all do the Buckaroo Banzai walk and end on a freeze frame...
