The full-length reaction for 1x08 seems to be missing from the website. Not sure if it's just me.
This was thr episode that made me realize Luther is truly shit. I remember the stages. First I thought it was a dream. Than I expected Luther to mess up but was pleaseantly surprised. And was thinking how realizing the futility of his mission helped him grow. Than we reveal he was still awful and going for full manipulation. And with all the others having enough decency to realize this is bs even Allisson that is one of the few that has good reason to do it I realized Luther was indeed shit and the worst. To think for a brief I thought there was hope. Fuck Luther.
I was fairly sympathetic toward Luther up to this episode. He got thrust into the role of a leader simply because Hargreeves decided to name him "#1", and he was trying his best to fill that role with what little guidance he got. But this goes far beyond that to him just being an idiot and making bad decisions on his own without even discussing it with anyone else. I guess he takes after Hargreeves too much. A pair of idiots that unwittingly cause the apocalypse in their attempts to stop it.
Idiot is beeing nice. He just emotionally manipuled his sister to trap her in a nighmare room against everyone wishes. He's an asshole and a monster.
I'm glad the discussion centers around just how much of an idiot Luther is. Super idiot? Very much an idiot? Somewhat an idiot? Definitely an idiot though.
damn it luther
Luther is 100% a dumbass, there are a million different ways he could have handled that other than locking Vanya away in the same room she was locked in as a child. Her whole thing is feeling ostracised and alone. She just found out the only person she trusted manipulated her, so she comes home scared and vulnerable looking for her family to show her that she is not alone in this and what does Luther do, he locks her up and walks away.
I am firmly in the Luther is an idiot camp.
Luther is an idiot. #confirmed
