One of the best things about this show is that you feel for (if not outright love) a lot of the other teams and players and not just the Kurasuno team. Haikyuu's pacing allows for character growth and unlike other sports anime games don't take twenty episodes to conclude (though I haven't watched any of the 4th Season yet so that may have changed.) It's one of the biggest reasons why I love this show so dang much!
