One thing that a lot of people don't realize is that Cochlear Implants don't work on sound frequencies. It's an electronic stimulation of the brain that simulates sounds, but not actually sound. So it's theorized that because whenever the monsters are near they mess with the lights that there is something in them that is reactive to certain electrical frequencies, which is why they reacted to her implant the way they did.

Gran entrapment's a real thing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grain_entrapment. It actually reached an all time high in the US in 2010. True to the move, most victims are minors.

Great reaction! This movie was very good, though you definitely have to just kinda go with certain parts of the story. I think the acting really helps with it, because you get very invested in the characters. You guys are completely wrong about the corn thing though lol. That shit can be dangerous! Also, jeez, you guys were a bit harsh about the girl character in FL haha. She couldn't see the creature when it was getting hurt the first time - how was she supposed to know that's what was happening? The second time she stops it because it's hurting her, and then they see the creature after she stops it. In the basement is the first time she is actually seeing it's reaction to the feedback, so it makes sense she puts it together then.

Hilarious that in the first 15 minutes they predicted the whole film!

Great film with a new style of horror. I love signs so these types of movies are great. The bit at the end though with Eric yelling made me laugh. :D

The sacrifice by the father - regardless of any “could have’s” or “should have’s” by the plot beforehand - always gets me. It’s just such a powerful, heartfelt scene. I’d argue that in comparison to the mass of good mother characters out there, we don’t have enough truly GOOD father figures in media these days.

Getting sucked down into corn like that is a real thing. It’s called grain engulfment. There are actually federal safety regulations on silos to help prevent it. Basically, sometime moisture can cause corn to clump together and as you drain the silo from the bottom, that clumped together corn holds and creates an empty pocket of air underneath it. Then you put too much weight or step on it and break that clump, all the grain rushes down to fill the void, like quicksand, and it can suck you in. Several people die from it every year. Well, I finally watched the information the guys recorded on Patreon so I’m officially an idiot. Apparently I’ve always had the power, Dorothy. I’ve watched a few of these from the email before but this time I decided to skip that part. So I’ll give the instructions a try for a change. Thanks for the help, everyone - very much appreciated!
