If he activated the bomb then he would have had to leave the Doctor and the kids behind. Can't allow any Cyber Tech off the planet. He had to wait until the Doctor got the Cyber Tech out of himself and the kids.
You need to watch The Inforarium mini to better understand the part about The Doctor deleting himself from history. A reaction to it would be nice, but not necessary.
How do you watch it? It won't work
I've encountered this with Vimeo on mobile platforms. What I've been told is that the only solution is to watch on a desktop browser. That's worked for me. Hope it works for you.

A couple of good moments, but a very scattershot episode. Not a fan of turning the cybermen into The Borg. Luckily, there is lots to look forward to in the weeks to come!

No one loved her more, and I think Eric will appreciate how deep his affection for her is, even if he threw a lot of jibes at her about her looks early on. (Which, according to Moffat, was just Twelve trying to pretend he didn't fancy her: "Oh, you're ugly, disgusting, stop looking so good!" Seems Eleven did it too.)
After the whole ordeal with the Silence and Madame Kovarian the Doctor went around deleting many of the records about himself throughout time and space, he wasn't able to do it with the Daleks because of how powerful they are but Oswin ended up doing it anyway and he would not have taken anything from UNIT because he knows they can be trusted with knowledge about him.
Didn't Oswin do it first? In my mind it was always like he was inspired by that act, and was going around doing it to every database he could find....
I really like this one(at least the parts not involving the kids) and it made a strong case for why you don't really need 2 parters most of the time. I always remember it as 2 parters.

It wasn't the Dalek's who removed the Doctor from everywhere. It was him following on from when he was supposed to die in Series 6. He went around deleting himself from every database in the universe.
Think they were referring to when Clara (dalek form) erased him from their database
Does anyone know if Day of the Doctor is in two weeks, or three with them doing Adventure in Space and Time first...
