I unashamedly love this episode. I know it's not to everyones taste, but it hits so many right notes for me. The infinity leaf is the only bum note, and i can live with that.
I love the single tear going down the Doctors cheek as he's giving that epic speech. Shows how much Matt put into that scene.
The girl was off game of thrones btw which is cool. She was shireen, stannis' daughter and the girl davos cared for.

While I do think this episode is a bit light on plot (and what happened to all those people when their star disappeared?!) I do think it's absolutely beautiful in style, and both the speeches at the end get me every time. I tear up at both the Doctor's and Clara's speeches. And while controversial, I love them both. It was a joy to watch the crew react to this and enjoy it so much. Especially this season (seven) I'm finding myself enjoying it a lot more watching with the guys, which is fun. So many cool alien designs this episode! Glad they enjoyed that, as well as of course the epic/emotional speeches. And of course, glad they're continuing to like Clara. I have to say, I did laugh when Calvin pointing out that the Doctor following Clara around as a child is a tiiiiny bit creepy, because yes, I'd agree. It is. As a person who sang in a choir for a very long time, I also always liked this episode for its music. I honestly really like The Long Song. It makes me emotional as well. Can't wait to move forward in s7, especially to some of the episodes I'm less keen on, and see how my opinion has changed since last time I watched, and if my enjoyment will continue to be better while watching along with the crew! :D

Thou I didn't like the leaf thing this whole episode and that speech was amazing! A piece of Doctor Who I'll never forget. I also loved how Clara told the Doctor straight up she's not going to be some rebound for the Doctor. She wants to be his equal, his friend.
I really like that they went for a different song rather than actually changed the doctor who theme. It adds a lot in terms of atmosphere.
What's really cool is that at conventions, other Doctor actors have been asked to read this speech as their Doctors, and it's glorious. This is such a beautiful string of episodes, it is right smack dab in the middle of change and you will find that Doctor Who fans react badly to change in comment sections. Continue to enjoy the ride gentleman. I envy where you are right now
