I'm so happy they finally get to my favourite companion! And their reaction to the new Tardis was a joy to watch!
Nice Patreon name there :D I approve. We all need more Benny in our lives.
Love seeing Eric and Shane absolutely buzzin about doctor who!
Clara is one of the most polarizing companions in the fandom. Mostly because she lasted a long time and became one of the most important people in the doctors life. I like Clara and think she gets way too much hate from fans.
I liked her because she was messy, sometimes wrong, and prepared to stand up to the Doctor when she thought it was right to do so.
I liked Clara in the beginning but she quickly dropped down considerably on my fav companions list. Will be interesting to see if these guys opinions of her changes at all
Thing is I didn't love her during the next 8-10 episodes, as much as I enjoyed Matt Smith's send off. But I thought she was fascinating in S9, which seems to be when she divided people.
And so it begins...my least favourite companion, but I'll stick with you guys on the reactions. Hope you guys enjoy the journey more than I did
Really? Why didn’t you like her? I’m SO curious.
frannie? young lily from snapes memories
Clara <3 My favorite companion. Even though I love her with Capaldi, I'm still so excited!
Same, and same! She has great chemistry with Eleven. But Twelve and Clara are truly special together. I could write a whole essay about their relationship. I am thrilled they love Clara right now (and love hearing Eric call her “beautiful girl”), and am counting the weeks to the 12-Clara era.
11 really looks amazing in that outfit.
I legit had a dream the other night of the guys reacting to The Day Of The Doctor... The anticipation for that is killing me! haha But, I was thinking... is there a way they could have the titles for that opening blurred out? People that have seen it will know what I mean... certain "cameos" so to speak, are spoiled bigtime in the opening few mins... I guess because it was common knowledge at the time for us Who fans... but these guys have NO IDEA whats coming! And it would be so cool to see them find out... as it happens. Just a thought.
No need to worry, the editor has his own version of the opening that the crew will react to
I agree that Jenna Coleman is quite the attractive lady. And in a Victorian dress that covers her completely from neck to ankles? Hubba, hubba. But as a companion, I dunno. My dislike of Matt Smith, and of the writing of the Capaldi era, probably colors my perception of her. On a different note, how many people noticed her in the first Captain America movie?
i did....if i remember it correctly she was the girlfriend from bucky?
❤️ Clara ❤️
Ahh - so you guys didn't see what happened two days after the Battle of Demon's Run: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xyh6yb
I just love that moment where she goes "It's smaller on the outside" Perfect way to spin a classic.
Clara's the best one ever!!
Why couldnt this clara just have become the new companion and not needlessly die? We'd have finally gotten something different to the typical 21st century female companion whilst having an actual good character compared this the shit version of clara we end up getting
I would have like that, but it just didn't happen. And I love Clara #3. :D (Please no spoilers in response)
You could say she’s quite impossible
The season finale is gonna absolutely blow their minds! Particularly Calvin's!
Here's the thing, I didn't like Season 4 as much as most people. I found Stolen Earth/Journeys End to be lacking, Turn Left to be a copy of a much better Buffy episode and the front half of episodes before Silence in the Library is dull as paint. But I didn't bombard the comments section saying its the worst era of Doctor Who. I think its good to let people love what they love.
Exactly This. I dont get the need for people to put down what other people enjoy especially when it differs from their opinion
I think Clara is great. There I said it.
I’m still not a big fan of her and Matt, I’m just not a big fan of the immediate lovesick vibe she tries to have with him. BUT I do love her with Capaldi.
I think the reason Jenna was much better with Capaldi is that she actually got to play a proper character instead of a mystery/plot point. But she's amazing in this episode.
I was ridiculously excited for this reaction, and it did not disappoint. That was amazing. I’m so glad they seem to love Clara, as well as her chemistry with the Doctor. That’s one of the reasons she got cast, because she was one of the few people who could talk as fast as Matt. And I wasn’t expecting so much laughter but was pleasantly surprised! Strax is hilarious. Clara is wonderful. Matt is great. Vastra and Jenny are delightful. The “one word” scene is one of my absolute favourites. So much excitement for Clara being the companion - which I loved. Also the SHOCK of one moment saying she should be the companion, and then having her dying on them - AGAIN. Brilliant. Aaron’s pokerface is great. I love this episode. It has this wonderful, magical vibe, very fantastical fairytale, it looks gorgeous and also like. Richard E. Grant as the villain. I’m sold. Also, best companion music theme, I think. AND - well done with the editing, Lono. A lot of great moments. And hilarious zoom-ins. Don’t want to go into spoilers, so I feel like I can’t talk much more - but I actually am very excited going forward from here.
Hope you also react to the prequel clip for next week's episode.
Ah, Clara. I’m definitely in the “don’t like her” boat. I loved the soufflé girl episode and the episode and then where it all went didn’t work for me at all. I’m glad the guys are enjoying it at least
At what point or episode did you realize you weren't feeling the character ?
I will never get tired of this episode. It's not only the best x-mas special, it's one of my favourite episodes ever. It's cool how Eric remarked on Jenna Coleman being able to keep up with Matt Smith because that's one of the main reasons she got the part. The one word test scene is probably my favourite dialouge in DW ever. It's so well written, i get chills. And i liked this reaction so much i'm going to watch it again right away!
This and Last Christmas are tied as my favourite Christmas specials. Both so magical, in holiday spirit, yet still relevant to the plot of the main series.
The Doctor is allowed to change the look of the Tardis himself. Making it more grown up and him being sadder.
Time to change the website's "Help" link to a grenade icon!
Welcome to my favorite companion. Or as most DW fans will call her “the worst companion ever.” I don’t get it at all.
Me neither, she's on my top 5 companions.
Are you guys going to watch the movie “An adventure in space and time” around the time you watch the 50th anniversary special?
Im sure Aaron is on top of it.. we will probably get Name of.., an Adventure in Space and Time, Night of.. then Day of..
The reason Smith's TARDIS changed is because his first TARDIS reminded him too much of the time with Amy and Rory, it made him sad so he changed it.
It was actually because Moffat had noticed that the TARDIS' design was getting progressively whimsical and resembled more of a magical place rather than a machine.
The Victorian gang is known as "The Paternoster Gang".
Jenna Coleman was announced as the new companion before the season started, but the Soufle Girl cameo was a big surprise they'd kept quiet.
And now some of the best episodes ever....
