Ivar is pretty much the most famous and ruthless Viking in history he is actually the oldest son and he actually led The Great Heathen Army and defeated Alle Bjorn tried but failed against him it made sence that they gave it to Bjorn as we've had Bjorn on the show for longer i think they made Ivar the youngest because they didn't wan't him on the show as they were telling Ragnars story as Ivar would of probably overshadowed him as Ivar is more famous so they waited untill the end of Ragnars journey untill they introduced him into the show
and Ragnar really didn't wan't his sons to be more famous than him he even made sure someone else got power so that Bjorn and the sons couldn't and also we are in the 8th centry in the show but we have characters from the 9th or 10th centry on the show also Bjorn is Aslaug's son this show changes alot from history most the characters on the show never actually met
I get the feeling she never wanted to be his woman...hence the king of Norway crap..lol

I can so see the whole series ending with Bjorn vs Ivar in an Epic Civil War or better BJorn and The Son Of Athelstan having some Alliance and Ivar Looses to Im So Hoping King Alfred.
It's not who wins the race, but who loses. The loser has to serve everyone at the wedding feast. At least, that's what the historical wedding race's rules were. Edit: Er, woops. I'd forgotten that they actually showed that.
Bjorn is, I sweearrrrr, just too damn good.....he carries the power of Ragnar. I believe in everything he speaks. Its just sooooo stttrrroooonggg!
