Considering Black lightning is special for surviving so long if there's something weird with her I think it has to be artificial.

Cyanide reminds of me a lot of Mercy, Lex Luthor's personal bodyguard whom was a cyborg assassin, so there could be something of that nature going on with her.

The whole season seems to be metahuman heros versus artificially enhanced villains, no reason to break the pattern
