I guess the Vikings channel their sadistic side when dealing with natives groups.They didn't come to talk ,they want the fight and the "glory" that comes from winning in a bloody fashion. Or they are all really high on berserker mushrooms....Like the Japanese in WW2 just dont let them capture you otherwise you will be tortured.
Rollo is the ancestor to William the Conqueror, the guy who invaded Saxon Britain in 1066 and conquered it, something the Vikings could never do.
