Okay can someone finally answer this for me after all these years I've never figured this out is envy a boy or girl ? I hope nobody gets offended that I am aware of genders lol
Envy is a boy. Even though the character is voiced by a female actor.

I love how they give May Envy to give to her emperor to save her clan despite how massively dangerous that is. Envy only knows one way for immortality. If he told Xing Emperor about it that man probably wouldn’t hesitate to kill his people to make a stone, which Envy could then use to restore its body.

eric is right, they are half siblings. there are 50 clans, and each clan's chief gives up his daughter to be the emperors concubine and give birth to a heir. some clans, like ling's, are better off than others(mai's clan is one of the lower clans).
