The Earth bender Lava Bends it's a part of earth bending
You guys are so awful with names. Heh. naturally the Earth Queen is designed to be unlikeable. And the grandmother's been indoctrinated to believe the queen can do no wrong. I sure hope Ba Sing Se will not be corrupt and secretive some day!
Yanks are awful with foreign names.
mako and bolins parents were muged by a firebender - he cut them down right in front of mako !!!
Why didn't he become Wolf-Batman?
that first combustion bender over relied on his raw power as a combustion bender using his most power attacks
combustion benders can do fire bending they just do combustion more cause it's over powered
lol Eric reading our early access minds at the end there XD
My first thought when they introduced P'Li was that is was combustion man's descendant.
Aww man I'm sad they skipped over the twins talking about trying to kill Korra, But Eric's reaction to "Didn't work" was priceless
in the first season mako tells korra hat firebenders killed his family, it was the episode that bolin was taken by amon and the revelation was announced
i mean if you have combustion bending i think you'd be pretty focuosed on that, it's a pretty OP power
I love how the villains in this season are pretty much Aang鈥檚 gang but evil. You have the airbender. (Aang, Zaheer) the waterbender (Ming Jua, Katara) the earth bender with a rare skill (Ghazan, Toph) and the firebender (Zuko, P鈥檒i). Not to mention they鈥檙e all prodigies just like the original gang. Also interesting to note that Mako & Bolin are not prodigy benders (as seen so far) and are just normal benders. Which is why they usually don鈥檛 fight a lot in the show.
Lava bending like toph
more like roku
That talk about the tram makes me wonder if they've got an earthbending dynamo somewhere. Magnetite is a rock; how efficient would spinning that around a wire with magic hung gar be?
A lot of the citizens reverence for the Earth Queen was giving me some major North Korea vibes, or some other similar world leader. One thing I love about Korra is that unlike the original series Korra delves into a lot of world building and the fact that the avatar isn't as mutually loved as Aang made it seem.
It was definitely Mao Zedong, especially since Earth Kingdom is highly inspired by the Chinese culture.
always waiting on dat full length..
Ba sing se is always corrupt!
Grandma鈥檚 picture of the Earth Queen, whose name is Hou Ting, reminds me of Mao Ze Dong (he founded the communist party in China).
That makes sense. China is largely based off of China. The clothes, the architecture, the names and culture. Ba Sing Se is meant to be more of the communist and controlling side of China. China is famous for keeping things from their people and being overpopulated, just like Mako and Bolin鈥檚 big family living in one apartment.
They will never get Mai's name right, will they?
Where's the Full Length? Will that be up later?
I'm shocked no one's pointed out Mako and Bolin's family live in Zuko and Iroh's old apartment.
Read the Youtube comments lol
Combustion benders can still do conventional fire bending
Mako and Bolin鈥檚 parents were mugged by a firebenders and were killed right in front of Mako. He was 8. It was said in Season 1 Episode 3.
Interesting detail, Grey Griffin, Azula's voice actress also voices Ming Wa in this season.
It does piss me off when you say that at the end Eric lol I want more :(
Tarlok not Tarlok Calvin :p
...
I did like how the Earth Queen viewed Aang and Zuko turning former Fire Nation colonies in the Earth Kingdom into the United Republic as stealing Earth Kingdom land. It was a nice way to show not everyone agrees with everything Aang did for the new peace, which makes it feel more real to me.
Not to mention it sets up the next Book perfectly
Man screw the Earth Queen, that's all I'll say
Lava bending is earth bending, molten earth/really hot earth basically. If waterbenders can do all states of water i don't see why it can't be a similar case for Earth.
Maybe it is not about the viscosity of the material, but the material actually containing water. Otherwise water benders would be able to bend molten metal as well. At least when Toph and Katara has the mud fight, each of them were actually bending the earth and water of the mud separately.
This is my favourite season of Korra
Love when you guys post early! :)
