February 2025 Newsletter

Happy February, y'all! I'm currently writing this newsletter from sunny Arkansas. Which is crazy thinking just a few days I ago I was galivanting around the frozen New England tundra for the annual Amherst Train show. Needless to say, it's been a busy few days.

Speaking of the Amherst show, this was probably my 20th or so excursion to the event and it was made all the more special meeting so many of you also attending. I think I spent as much time chatting with fans of the channel as I did soaking in the models and perusing the vendors! It was a blast and with some luck, maybe I'll have the chance to be one of those vendors next year ;-)

What's New?

Not really a whole lot 😂

I probably spent more time working on the N Scale layout than I have in Trainz. But I have managed to get a good chunk of work completed on the NYCH route. I'm still aiming for a spring-ish release if all goes well. The majority of work remaining is mostly background structures/scenes. I could simply focus on detailing the important trackside scenes, but I really think the route will shine brightest with the inclusion of some of the Brooklyn skyline. I think I'll be able to squeeze about 2 more videos from the route before it's "done" so keep an eye out for those in the coming weeks.

As far as N Scale stuff goes, I recently purchased a new BLI NW2 loco so I'll be painting that up as NYCH #59 in the coming weeks. I also started working on the car forwarding system for the layout and I'd love to cover that in more depth with a video or blog series. Let me know if that's something you'd be interested in!

Executive: Since I'm out of town until the 2nd, the latest NYCH download will be available on the 3rd.

Dispatcher: The monthly livestream will be Wednesday Feb, 12th at 7 PM EST.

Project Manager: This month's release is a NYC style MTA bus. The download will include a version decorated as the B48 which was the bus I used to frequent during my time in Brooklyn as well as an undecorated version for your own personal reskins. Download will also be available on the 2nd.

I'm also hoping to get started on the NW2 painting and decaling video this month but that one might take a bit of time to get finished.
