January 2025 Newsletter
Happy New Year, everyone!
We had a successful 2024 with the release of the P&B v2.0 and I'm hoping to continue the momentum in 2025. I took a much needed break through the holidays and am eager to get back to the zillion ongoing open projects in my catalogue (I'd really like to wrap some of these up one day.....🙃) .
So with that, let's cover what's new and what I hope to accomplish this year.
What's New?
At the beginning of the new year I always like to publicly release all the Patreon assets from the previous year. So, by the time you're done reading this, you can head over to my website and grab the 3 newest packs supported all through Patreon.
If you were a Patron last year and have some of these assets already, I always recommend redownloading them from the website just in case I updated anything (remember to submit edits). Special thanks to all my 2024 Patrons who supported these assets as well as the final blitz to complete the P&B v2.
Plans for 2025
I have to be careful with how much I hope to complete this year. As I get older I've been finding that burnout is becoming more and more frequent and I need to take breaks and do pretty much anything else. So this is really just an idealized "to-do list."
Complete and release the NYCH (Trainz); (Spring 2025 maybe?)
Begin updating the P&B to v3 (I covered most of this in my last 2024 livestream)
P&B update releases will begin on Patreon again in early 2025
P&B videos will return by spring 2025
More N Scale videos (but not too many)
Update the D&T, Union Terminal, and other "older" routes to Trainz 2022 standards and get them on my site (this will be a slow process)
That's about it lol. Ultimately, I'd like to try to release 2 videos a month if possible. One Trainz video and one N Scale video. Again, I'm not sure how feasible that is for me anymore but that's a goal of mine.
All of the Patreon benefits will continue as is until I run out of decent assets to port from CGTrader or Squid.
Patreon Benefits
Executive: For January the NYCH has been provided already. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'll also include the P&B Allegheny Yard route demo I was working on during the New Years Eve stream. So keep an eye out for that later today.
Dispatcher: The monthly livestream will be Wednesday January 15th at 7 PM EST.
Project Manager: This month's release is a finally properly scaled Waste Management garbage truck. I got tired of looking at the wildly out of scale versions available so I ported my own. Its actually the same model as the others, I just scaled it up to the correct size. Next months asset will be a New York City style city bus.
Model Railroader: I've got another layout update video in the works. A lot has happened in the last few weeks and I can't wait to show it all off.
