Development Progress Update, SpookyMilk Life Collaboration (Spine Animations), & Future Roadmap
It’s been two months since my last update. I sincerely apologize for the long silence. I should have worked harder instead of slacking off, but during this time, I’ve been studying game development deeply to improve my craft. Now, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and what’s coming next!
Up until the next update, the build will be released for free on Itch.io and Steam. Starting from the update after that, new builds will be released as Patreon Early Access for supporters first, and then officially rolled out to the public once the project reaches completion.
Before diving into the development progress, I have an exciting announcement!
🤝 SpookyMilk Life Spine Animations
Some of you might already know this, but I am currently collaborating with SpookyMilk Life!
I’ve taken charge of their Spine 2D animation assets and have received permission to share the animations I worked on here on my Patreon. I will be uploading FHD Spine Animation GIFs, which will be available to $10 Tier backers (the same tier equivalent as SpookyMilk Life).
somtimes, iwill post to X by old gif
(sorry. patreon is free contents don't post adult contents)
🛠️ Development Progress
1. Multi-Language (Localization) Support
The game now supports multiple languages!
If the language pack is not supported, open the .txt file created in the Discord channel, select all the text, copy it, paste it into the input field, and then click ‘Apply’ to apply the new country language!
While the base game is in English, handling all global translations alone as a solo developer is nearly impossible.
I’ve set up a dedicated #Languagepack on our Discord. If you’d like to help translate the game into your native language, I’d be truly grateful if you took a look!
DISCORDlink
Anyone who contributes to translation will have their name permanently listed in the game credits.
(To prevent story spoilers, starting with v0.3, translation Google Sheets will be shared with $2+ Patrons first).
2. Player Name Customization (Profile Input)
Added an input field where you can set your player character’s custom name.
Currently, the name cannot be changed once set, but I plan to implement a name-changing feature in a future update if needed.
3. VN-Style Story Cutscenes
Added visual novel-style standing dialogue scenes for characters.
Immersive story cutscenes will now trigger during major plot events!
4. Grimoire Weakness Indicators
The note now displays icons showing each entity's specific weakness, making it much easier to deduce how to counter them.
5. New Weapon: Perfume (Tier 1 Water Element)
Added the Perfume weapon. It deals light damage to vulnerable entities at close range.
4-1. Resupply Stations:
Perfume runs out after several uses. You can refill water by holding the [E] key at water dispensers or save mirrors.
6. In-Game Tutorials & Key Prompts
Added tutorial post-it notes throughout the environment to improve game accessibility.
5-1. Interactive Key Prompts:
Visual button prompts now appear when getting close to interactive objects or when grabbed by enemies.
7. Residual Thought Forms (Lore Expansion)
Added interactive lore objects containing sub-stories. They reveal past events and answer lingering questions about the lore as you explore.
📋 To-Do List Before Next Release
[ ] Convert H-scenes to Spine resources (major optimization for file size)
[ ] Ensure save data persists seamlessly across language switches
[ ] Add a Demo Ending screen
[ ] Polish level design
[ ] Adjust placement of Residual Thought Forms
🎯 Version 0.2 is scheduled to launch within September!
💖 Thank You & Future Plans
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supports me and waits patiently. Your support is what truly motivates me to keep building. Let’s make an awesome game together!
Once development on this game is complete:
I will produce a dedicated comic series set in the "Bucket" universe, featuring refined artwork, deeper lore, and an expanded storyline beyond what was shared on Pixiv.
At the same time, I will begin development on my next game project.
Thank you so much for walking this journey with me!
