Update! Queue cleared, Upcoming Patreon changes
Just wanted to make a little update post here! My queue is officially CLEARED after a long 2 months of playing catch-up! What does this mean for my Patreon? More original content.
This does not mean commissions are permanently closed, however I will be trying my best to make money through adopts and ychs as to not burn myself out with commission work again. I DO plan to continue offering quicker, cheaper commissions here on Patreon exclusively. These will be quick 1-3 day turnaround slots. (Reminder, please make sure you're connected to my discord!)
Aside from that, there's a few changes I want to make to my Patreon, and I wanted to share those ideas here so you know what to expect moving forward! I will be testing out these changes in the following month or two before deciding whether or not I want them to be permanent perks.
The changes/additional perks are as follows:
Patreon-sponsored fan art:
I would love to work on more fan art in general, so I'll be introducing a new fan art Suggestion channel on Discord! Here, all patrons will be able to suggest characters they'd like to see me draw! I will pick from these suggestions and illustrate at least one fanart a month, though I may do multiple if I'm feeling up for it. I will not be doing polls, however I will encourage others to react to suggestions they're interested in! (I'll be making a little "+1" emote to use for this.) I will announce once the suggestion channel goes live (Likely at the start of September)
Sticker Club polling:
Another change I'd like to implement is sharing multiple, rough sticker design concepts for Sticker Cat Patrons to vote on! I'll sketch out a couple ideas and set up a poll to see which design folks are more interested in. The winning design will be completed and offered as the following month's sticker.
Art reward tiers:
This is one I won't be testing out just yet, but I am considering offering *limited* art reward tiers. These have burned me out in the past, so I want to experiment with a few things first and ensure I offer rewards that I can enjoy working on every month. They will likely be limited to smaller pieces (headshot and fullbody sketches, chibis, that sorta stuff) with maybe 2-5 slots each. I will share more information about these tiers, including prices, at a later date.
As for original content:
I would like to work on more art of my ocs, and start animating again. Animation is my passion, and I want to start practicing again and sharing them here. I would also like to try learning 3D modeling and rigging, but that's a beast I'll have to tackle slowly lol. I'd love to try and create my own VR models, PNG tubers, etc.
I rarely get any time to work on things for myself, and it's made art more of a chore than a passion these last few years. I only ever share commission work, with maybe a sprinkle of original content here and there. I want to re-gain that love and passion for art. I want to try new things. I want to experiment with my style. I want to expand my skillset. I want to do SO MANY things, and hope now is the time I can finally do that.
