Gatebreaker is a flail wielded by Balefire Commander Domerian Kalt. Its jagged head is forged in the likeness of a burning star and etched with channels that glow when exposed to Fiends. Kalt has carried the weapon through decades of demonic breach responses, using it to batter back demons and devils long enough for Balefire Knights to complete the rites required to seal their passage to the mortal plane. The flail became inseparable from Kalt’s legend after the Angenus’s Scar incursion in 608 EoIF. As the final sealing rite began to collapse under repeated Hellfire assaults, Kalt held the breach line while the surviving knights restored the circle behind him.
