(Find Familiar) Pack Hound | Creature Statblock

Need a familiar that carries your gear and always has your back? Meet the Pack Hound by downloading the PDF below!

Pack Hounds are sturdy, dependable dogs trained to accompany adventurers on long, dangerous journeys. Recognizable by the specialized packs strapped across their backs, these loyal companions carry far more equipment than their size suggests, thanks to a touch of extradimensional magic woven into each pack. Their keen senses make them helpful scouts, and generations of traveling alongside adventurers have given Pack Hounds an uncanny awareness of danger.

As familiars, Pack Hounds quickly come to regard their spellcaster and traveling companions as members of their pack. They eagerly carry supplies and bark encouragement when an ally spots an opening in battle. A Pack Hound asks for little in return beyond food, affection, and a place beside the campfire, remaining a steadfast companion wherever the journey leads.

Variant: Packhound Familiar

Packhounds can serve as a Find Familiar option for Warlocks with Pact of the Chain. Packhounds can also be used as a Find Familiar at the Dungeon Master's discretion.
