The Tome of Borrowed Time is a spellbook bound in leather and reinforced with silver fittings etched with arcane script. An hourglass is set into its cover beneath a pane of crystal, its sand flowing without fail. The pages within are filled with equations, spell diagrams, and fragmented observations written in different hands, though all appear to have been penned by the same author at different points in their life. The author was a chronomancer who became consumed by the belief that time was not an endless current, but a finite resource that could be measured, stored, and transferred from one creature to another.
