Legendary Artifact. These dormant artifacts will grow in power with the player and are very powerful items! General advancement is to awaken an artifact by some feat of strength or backstory tie in between level 10-15 and exalt between levels 16-20.

This shield is made from lacquered darkwood reinforced with bands of aged gold, its face dominated by the mummified skull of a long-forgotten ruler. The skull is tightly wrapped in faded burial linens etched with curling script, each strip sealed with resin and pressed with arcane symbols. No one agrees on who the Dried King truly was. Some claim he was a desert tyrant who ruled by divine right, demanding absolute obedience from his people. Others whisper that he was a priest-king who defied death, commanding his own preservation so his rule would never end. Whatever the truth, those who wield the Aegis of the Dried King feel the unspoken demand to lead, to command, and to never yield.
