(Find Familiar) Gloomfang | Creature Statblock

Need a familiar that follows you around like a living shadow with teeth? Check out Gloomfang by downloading the PDF below!

Gloomfangs are born from living darkness, forming where light diminishes and fear takes over. Their shapes resemble slim, feline-like beings woven from shadows, and when a Gloomfang is summoned, it appears as if pulled from the spellcaster’s shadow, shaping itself as nearby light flickers briefly.

As familiars, a Gloomfang attaches themselves to spellcasters who value control, patience, and precise timing. They linger at light’s edge, slipping between shadows as they silently watch over their spellcaster, always alert for threats the moment they reveal themselves. A Gloomfang rarely acts without purpose, preferring to wait in stillness until the right moment to strike, or protect their spellcaster from harm.

Variant: Gloomfang Familiar

Gloomfang can serve as a Find Familiar option for Warlocks with Pact of the Chain. Gloomfang can also be used as a Find Familiar at the Dungeon Master's discretion.
