This longsword gleams with pale gold light along its jagged edge, like a shard of a lantern’s flame captured in steel. Its ornate hilt resembles the wrought iron of lantern cages, and when drawn in darkness the blade sheds a steady radiance, as if keeping vigil against the night. Carried by knights sworn to guard the helpless and hold the line against encroaching shadow, the sword burns with the promise that the light will endure until dawn.
