I'm honestly scared. They already changed Sokka's character because apparently, he was too sexist in the cartoon. So, that alone will change a lot of his and Katara's character developments.

I was hype after the one piece remake, but after hearing all the news coming out and all the changes they wanted to make. I’m extremely low on it.

Extremely low expectations already. In fact I don’t believe it’ll finish as what they have revealed about the show has already proven to me they didn’t understand any of the key elements that made the writing of Avatar excellent, ESPECIALLY for a kids show. For example, they wrote out Sokkas sexism. While that may seem like its a good thing, its important to his character to grow from being a sexist water tribe hillbilly to admiring and being able to learn from women that happen to be in positions of authority that typically would be taken up by men (the Kyoshi warriors). They also said the show aims to go straight towards the water tribe and avoid showing any of the adventures Aang and his crew went along while they went to the North Pole. THIS IS ALMOST IMPORTANT as its a crucial element to Aangs character, a boy who didn’t want to bear the responsibilities of being the Avatar, its the whole reason he’s stuck in ice for 100 years to begin with!!! So if they are already revealing these things about the show, TWO important key elements to two main characters that also serve as a narrative piece to further develop the plot and are literally taken out the story, I have honestly ZERO hope this has potential to be remotely good. Its gonna be a fun train wreck to watch, and it’ll be a twitter conversation for a good 3 months.

Some of this sounds like a bit of an exaggeration. I don’t think removing Sokka’s sexist traits will derail the Avatar’s destiny. It’d be hard to portray him like that for long in live action without non OG Avatar fans labeling him as a sexist asshole (especially with how the internet is nowadays) so I get it. What I’m more worried about is the fact that the original creators already parted away with the Netflix adaptions producers over differences in how the story should be adapted. That’s a big red flag for me but I’m gonna try to watch it with an open mind.

Hopefully it turns out well

If the first episode is better than everything in the movie, then it’s automatically B rank, which could move up to A or S
