Get this to 40 likes if you enjoy fighting animes. After witnessing the groundbreaking season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen, it made us wonder. Which anime has better fighting scenes; Dragonball Super or Jujutsu Kaisen? Which other animes do you feel compete against these two?

Dragonball Z fighting is on another level, sure the animation is older but I love the old 90s hand drawn animation better anyways.
Not just the animation. The pacing is way slower and more eps of just powering up and floating. Sure it has some good back to back fights but overall it’s not in the same league. A-B tier
If this was Dragonball as a whole I’d give it the win but the only Z fights that hold up to JJK are Goku vs Cell and Goku vs Majin Vageta

Dragonball is more important, JJK has more sakuga, though also a lot of ugly ass 3D backgrounds. Have to give it to JJK and give those overworked animators the nod.
I'll say this... You can't deny the impact that DBZ and it's animation had on the people who watched it in the 90s. You just can't. This part is my opinion, but nothing has ever topped it from THAT standpoint until VERY recently. Sadly, JJK ain't the one. AoT, Naruto, and OP are the only anime who have made an impact on the world comparable to DBZ, in my opinion at least. JJK is amazing for it's animation and it's fight scenes... but it's got about as much plot as Demon Slayer (TO ME.), just with extra steps. It's like, DS at least hits the feels most of the time. Not complex, but it works. JJK never really made me feel anything or think ahead story-wise (until Kenjaku). I haven't finished s3, so don't kill me for missing the Yuta fight lol I think if you switched up the eras in which they were released, JJK is literally just YuYu Hakusho at that point 😆 DBZ made TODAY... Yeahhhh, pick yo jaw up! It's hard to imagine how nutty that could have been. Sure, DBS Broly is very close to what we'd get, but imagine a remastered version of ALL DBZ fights in THAT animation style, but better (since it's been 8 years now) The debate is fun. I'll stick with DBZ. People forget how bad the production of anime was at that time. If it got the love of a MAPPA studio working on it, it would reclaim it's throne atop the anime world...! DBZ fights were always about topping the last one, too... What if? Right? And that's not hate on JJK. I think it's fine, just like DS. It does feel a little juvenile in the writing department, but it's just a younger vibe with ancient powers in it. It's just that I can say all the same things about JJK as a lot of people say about DS. And that's where I stand. All 3 anime (in their current form) are about an 8-8.5 for me.
I'm just gonna add that based on the POLL, yeah JJK. Easy. I thought it was a fun idea like "what if Jordan played today and LeBron played in the 80s?" Type of question 😆 But no, since THEY asked about DB SUPER fight scenes vs JJK, that's easy. Super wasn't about the fights anymore. DB Super actually learned to tell interesting stories and showed growth as a writer for Toriyama. I thought the fights and the animation were a step back from DBZ, personally. Vote changed 😆

dosent matter, majority of the anime community agrees the jjk yuta fight is their fav fight of all time. Its def a top 5 anime fight of all time while i wouldnt put any dbz fight in a top 5. The poll dosent lie either with the jjk slam

This might be one of, if not the worst pull that RT TV has ever done and is definitely something that’s gonna need to be called out on their next podcast as it just goes to show their audience is mostly made up of NewGen kiddies that don’t know the Golden OG Greatness that is DragonBall Z. Even just modern DB through the Broly movie and Daima has better fights and I’m not even a fan of those.
I don’t like this argument. “New gen have no idea” So everything that is new, will never beat old because it’s nostalgia for some?
JJK by a mile. JJK offers something unique every single fight with not only top tier animation but S tier fight choreography.
Animation and choreography is one in the same in this case when it comes to fights. And there’s never been a DBZ fight that’s exactly the same as another.
DBZ power system is trash so JJK just off that beats it. not to mention the actual strategy used in jjk fights are much more complex. You can argue in terms of full package JJK is the GOAT atm until a new series takes over and improves on the current shounen formula Also yuyu hakusho neg diffs dragon ball in writing and fights

Jjk fights are much better because they deal with hand to hand and really good use of abilities. With dragon ball it’s mostly ki blasts which are boring

dragonball fans are coping so hard, dragonball series has some peak moments but they cant compete when it comes down to fight choreography
It doesn’t take any coping to see that people are just filled and blinded with recency bias more than anything else. If we’re being completely honest NewGens like JJK are only seen as better cause of their animation choreography in these modern times primarily thanks to their studios, not the fights themselves organically and naturally. Even in those cases, all you would have to look it is at modern DB through the Broly movie and Daima, both of which I’m not even a fan of and see that even in those categories they clear.
Completely different eras guys. Not going to even vote on this one. What if JJK came out in the 90s? lol DBZ will always be more nostalgic, and I see myself revisiting those epic moments more than JJK. A dream would be to have that 90s art style while incorporating modern fluidity and choreography. Thinking along the lines of some of those DBZ movies where Goku was showcasing actual martial arts, but instead of those scenes lasting 5-10 sec max, we would get a full episode length of it.
Not the poll and that’s personal. But if JJK came with 90’s animation I bet it would still wash lol because to even have thought of that power system and techniques that early would’ve been a genius and I bet the pacing would’ve been the same straight to the point and pure hands

Good poll. What other anime’s can compete? To be hero x’s fights could compete against these two choices. The Queen v Bowa fight was 8 minutes uninterrupted hands. Not to mention what X was doing in the finale. Jerrys inability to understand basic timeline doesn’t take away from the fights in that show.

If they reanimated the whole of Dragon Ball Z in the Super Broly style, then hell yeah. Cuz think about it, the best fights in Dragon Ball are old as hell. Gohan vs Cell, 1993, Goku vs Frieza 1991, Vegito vs Majin Buu, 1995. The fact that all these fights still hold up despite being aged says a lot.
They would also have to cut a lot of eps of just standing,floating or yelling lol gotta do a brotherhood style cut a lot of eps an reanimate
Stuff like this can't be compare because you have dbz that came out in a different generation and the animation at the time was hand drawn compare to today's animation that's all computer drawn, I can say that DBZ has has better fights but cause of jjk animation ppl are going to say I'm bugging out.

DBZ is phenomenal but JJK is a different beast and the stakes in the fights are so much higher in JJK anyone could die not to say people don't die in DBZ but you already know the dragon balls are just gonna bring them back anyway
There are plenty of cases throughout the DB series where the characters don’t actually come back ever if at all, also upon initial viewing you don’t even think about that.

Currently watch the JJK reaction discussion cause I just watched and yall are comparing the episode. JJK has crazy modern day animation so it’s seems one sided but modern dbz gives it a run for its money especially if you use Dragonball movie like Broly to see how good it could have been. I’d vote Dbz Yes one’s a movie but mappa quality is movie like so fair enough to use

I love Dragon ball with all my heart but Jujutsu Kaisen is nonstop action. Nearly every single episode someone is punching someone in the face.

I’ll give the edge to JJK due to strategy in battle. the character logic in that show is so refreshing to see even someone like Yuji is capable of thinking and raising up good points like in Higuruma’s domain
The peak of One Piece animation is better than the highest peaks of JJK. Zoro vs King. The Sanji vs Queen combo scene. Certain scenes of Luffy vs Kaido, like the lightning fight. Only things in JJK that could come close are Sukuna vs Mahoraga and Yuji vs Choso. And the fact that One Piece was weekly too is just insane to think about
