Time for an update
Last update post was on just 27th, so it's been a little while. Let's talk.
Future of Camp Mourning Wood
The truth is that the game has already been getting close to release for a while now, so the Steam debacle isn't going to change that. The thing that will change however is how much time I spend on the next game.
Genie Trainer has been in the concept phase for over two years now and I'd like to start making more progress on it. Both because I don't want there to be a large gap between the release of CMW and the first playable demo of GT, but also because it's fun to work on something else for a while :)
State of CMW
So where are we at exactly? Right now we're still working on the CGs for the finale. Jodsy is unfortunately very busy with his job and the heat isn't helping, so progress has been a little bit slower. I've asked Potchi to begin helping him as well.
In the meantime I'm adding extra content to the game as a little bonus. More side missions, more secrets, stuff like that. CMW is such an open setting that I could keep adding content to it for years, but my motivation has dropped a bit after the Steam news. I might expand it more in the future, but working on GT has been fun so far.
Regular updates will not change. Next update is in August =)
State of Genie Trainer
Still very early in development. I have my main inspiration, a good idea of the main gameplay elements and the story is mostly locked in. Right now I'm looking into art style and writing the intro to the game. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but getting everything just right for the first few minutes of a game is very important and can take a lot of time.
Hiring
The position for Editor and Animator is still open. I've closed writer for now (thank you for everyone who applied). I've had a lot of good applications, but I've settled on one additional writer for the moment who's currently helping me with the tone / setting of GT.
I'll keep everyone's application on record in case more positions for writer open up in the future =)
Wrapping up
So we're wrapping it up there. Figured you guys deserve to know what's going on over here. Technically not much has changed, it's just that work on the next game and the weather is slowing things down a litte. We're still well on our way to release on time for August, so stay tuned for that =)
Thank you for reading this long ass post ^^". I hope you are all doing well and I'll keep you updated in the future.

I need help finding the water tower I can't progress in the game from this point on
Hey James, the water tower is just south of the pool. Look for the button near the bottom center.
for the life of me i cant get the stuck with nothing to do quest figured out, id love some help please!
Hi Katlen, where exactly did you get stuck? Maybe try asking in the Discord channel. *Note: The game isn't finished yet, maybe you've already done all of the content?
Hey just wanted to reach out to see if you could help me fix a bug. I'm trying to build tess's chair in her workshop and it says I don't have the giant dildo (even though I do). Is there a way to reset this and rebuy it from the night shop?
Hi there Xx, I had already replied to this post, but I don't think it got through so let me try again. I think I know what the issue is. You need to get 3 parts: -Lawnmower engine (visit the pool storage shed) -Bus' battery (go meet with campers when they arrive in camp) -Dildo Even if you've bought the dildo, you won't be able to install it until you've got the lawnmower engine. Then you should be able to install all three parts :)
hey hey, haven't been able to support you for financial reasons for a while now, but wanted to drop in and leave some mental support after I found out about the steam fiasco. I'm a former game dev myself and I feel for you regarding all the sus stuff happening with payment processors putting so much pressure on platforms to align with their ideas what is okay to sell and what is not. You didn't direclty mention this in your post, but from context in the industry and especially since they did not actually provide a proper reason (mentioning its too much lke a summer camp to me feels like a cop out) I think it probably is what going on. Well, longwinded post being longwinded, I suppose all I wanted to say is we as your fans and target group still very much support you, as much as we can. And when you finally release I for one definitely plan on properly buying your game. Hope you all are doing well!
It’s bad that steam don’t have an appeals process. Is it not possible to re-submit the game? Obviously I won’t claim to understand how it works when submitting a game to steam, or if you’re up to making the changes needed to get it through to their satisfaction. Hopefully it’ll work out for you!
Its been awhile since i checked in and this makes sense i was wondering why there was a game that didnt exist on my wishlist.... shame that happened hopefully you guys can figure something out :(
Nice update. short and to the point. long ass post my ass ^^
