Better Than Friday - 225
Good first New Year Friday to you all, how goes?
Here's some stuff to enjoy, hope all is well, and thank you very much to everyone who increased and/or continued their support of the show.
1. A nonfiction book I'd love to read: Time of the Magicians by Wolfram Eilenberger (Paid Link)
All about the intersecting lives, post-WW1, of the famous philosophers Walter Benjamin, Heidegger, and Wittgenstein.
Inspired by the list provided by @alissonyamakawa6597 on the 2023 Favorites video.
Homey don't play that.
I lost it at "I think you got it backwards son."
Classic In Living Color skit.
Unbelievable film. Un-ironically a Cinematic Masterpiece.
They really do not make them like they used to.
4. "Mightier than the sword indeed."
Quills was one of my favorites when I was younger.
Magnificent performance by Geoffrey Rush as the Marquis de Sade.
Might be my favorite of theirs.
A cool evening

Hope you feel better soon sir! Gonna drink some Coffee to your health!
Quills is definitely one of my faves! Have you seen the ultra-bizarre French film "Marquis"?
Have you heard Kurt Cobain's cover of And I Love Her? Quite bleak as you might expect, but very good.
No, but I just listened, that was terrific, thank you.
