You could move to Norway - learn Norwegian to read Knausgård and Hamsun. Seems like you've got a real nice place - the view at the very least - so hope you're happy and comfortable there.
I've heard really good things about Austin.
In general TX is brilliant. Houston is massive and weird - Austin is totally dope though it's become expensive.
There are a few cool book stores in the immediate area. A lot of coffee shops. It's close enough to the bay for a visit, but, far enough to avoid traffic and grossly inflated real estate prices. My only gripe is if you're trying to go somewhere outside of downtown or mid-town area it's pretty hard without a car. Public transportation is not great. If I don't drive into work I gotta run my ass home before six p.m otherwise I could be waiting an hour for a bus.
Yeah CA is inflated generally in major cities. I'm considering TX or FL.
Dude, might I recommend Sacramento. I moved up here from LA this last year. No regrets. The downtown or mid-town area is pretty cheap relative to LA.
Totally an option - I like Sacramento
