Better Than Friday - 166
Good evening ya'll, hope you're reading something solid this weekend.
Currently editing Part 1 of a 2-part 'Crime and Punishment' review.
I stopped at the end of Chap 3 - Svidrigailov just introduced himself.
1. Book I'd like to read - Vladimir Sorokin's Telluria
A 'Neo-Feudal' dystopic fiction that's being compared to Cormac McCarthy and William Gibson.
Reminds me a bit of 'Hard to be a God', which I still have to read...
2. Adam Lehrer got on Billy Corgan's Podcast
Adam got on the show of the one and only rat in a cage.
Turns out Corgan's a huge fan of Communions. He called it
"literally the most fantastic book I've read in the last 20 years from a contemporary writer."
I wish Adam all the best now that he's famous as fuck.
He's got a new one out with Morbid Books - I'm sure it's a doozy.
3. What might be the greatest EBM/Industrial song I've ever heard
It took a long time for me to get into Front 242, not sure why.
Still sounds so good. I think it's widely considered one of the best of all time.
4. New(er) Cormac McCarthy Interview
A stunning interview with the greatest living American author.
Finishing up his new one 'The Passenger' right now.
Morbid, but interesting. Not your everyday Q&A.

Highly recommend Telluria! Just read it and loved it.
I have a friend who's a mortician. Always one of the informative talks I ever have. The amount of stupid questions (and incredible answers) we got from her... Everyone should have mortitians as their friends.
I know Front 242 tour a lot. It's always a fun night seeing them. And I believe the video for Headhunter is what got Depeche Mode interested in Anton Corbijn.
Nice sunset picture! I’ve seen a similar view many times from Clearwater beach over the years. Sunsets are so awesome. And they are never the same, even from one second to the next. I’m really looking forward to your Crime and Punishment review(s). Have a nice weekend Clifford! Jeff
Nice shout out for Sorokin, his book Day of the Oprichnik is currently on my bedside to-be-read pile for this month which coincidentally the first book that I read off that pile was the Strugatsky's brothers Roadside Picnic.
