Better Than Friday - 145
Good evening everyone, how goes?
Sore as hell over here. Took a hike up Dog Mountain in the gorge yesterday. Then went to the gym for everybody's favorite: Leg day.
What the hell is wrong with me...
Hope you enjoy ze stuff.
1. Book I can't wait to read - Aghora: At the Left Hand of God
I can't express how cool this book looks. I've been fascinated by the Death-Worshipping Hindu sadhus, the Aghori, for years, but I know next to nothing about them.
----------------------------
A collection of the spiritual wisdom of an esoteric practitioner of the ancient discipline of Aghora, the book records Vimalananda's experiences and insights into human nature and the struggle for spiritual purification. The teachings of Vimalananda balances the practice of Aghora with a deep knowledge of spirituality and faith, in this fascinating book by Robert E. Svoboda.

2. LL Cool J was actually cool as hell
My wife introduced me to this video and this killer track recently. So good.
How'd they get past me?
And damn do I miss the 90s. Never thought I’d ever say that.
3. Blow-Up Scene
YES YES YES
I bring up this scene with Veruschka in the next review.
Great, great, great film by Antonioni. Highly recommended.
4. Let's Get Lost - A Chet Baker Documentary
Totally watching this as soon as humanly possible.
5. Grivo
A newer drone/shoegaze band from Austin that my radar just picked up.
Melancholy, but I'm digging the sound.
Wildflowers are everywhere on the top of Dog Mountain in late May/early June.
Worth the trek.

LL Cool J, great memories, forgot about this one.
Love Chet Baker. The film disappointed me a bit. A little too self-consciously arty.
I love Blow-Up, and have seen it several times! The rustling of leaves in the park, the mystery, the moddish London scene, Vanessa Redgrave and Sarah Miles! I have the collection of stories by Cortázar that inspired the movie, but have yet to read it, sigh ...
Amazing views.
