Hey hey) is there any deadline about trip info?
Hi Nataliia, not at the moment, I'll be sure to make the official announcements if a trip actually gets the green light. Thanks for your interest!
The Brothers Karamazov is one of my absolute favorites. The work of a genius at the top of his game. I think it’s written in a way that the characters you like most say a lot about yourself.
Glad to see revolt of the Angles there - criminally forgotten about!
Look forward to the prospective reviews. Worth noting Highsmith only really borrowed the inciting incident from ‘The Ambassadors’ in shipping Tom Ripley off to Italy after a wayward son, and is otherwise treading very different ground (she thoughtfully nodded to James in the story itself.) Recollections are a little hazy on the satirical ‘Revolt’ apart from it being my favorite France novel; he’s well worth a read. Had no idea ‘Las Vegas’ was an adaptation, Cage won his Oscar for that one. And will have to investigate Lichtenberg for myself -- excellent find. Can speak favorably of the remaining classics and the Davis flash fiction 👍
Wait ....you haven't read Paul auster?? Read the new York trilogy as soon as possible. It's better than food
The Brothers K is one of my top 5 books ever. I’ve read it 3 times. J
Giovanni's Room, with that clear and beautiful prose. Great choice.
The Talented Mr Ripley is an excellent book as is The Price of Salt (also republished with the shorter title of 'Carol'). The latter is very different from Highsmith's crime novels. Highsmith's recently published Notebooks and diaries is also worth a look if somewhat a daunting task at 1024 pages.
What a list! Good luck!
