Maybe part 4 ?
A great series of videos. Thank you Cliff.
I'm impressed for how many portuguese classics you own and have read, especialy The Maias, it's a book that every student in Portugal has to study in highschool but never thought it had any reputation outside of the country. Btw, it's pronouce "Essa de Keirós" basicly,
This whole tour series was a lot of fun. You mention that you’d like to read more Italian authors and I can’t remember if you ever mentioned The Leopard by Giuseppe di Lampedusa? I read it years ago and remember liking it a lot. It’s also an easy read. Not Italian, but I would love to hear your thoughts on The Brothers Karamazov some day! It’s a book I’ve read multiple times, but I’m not sure exactly what you would think...
I just ordered The Manifold Destiny of Eddie Vegas from Mr Harsch. Hopefully my copy comes without blood... or any other bodily fluids. But yeah, Chris has talked the book up enough that I’m really looking forward to reading it. Maybe once I finish Gravity’s Rainbow. Interested to see if you review GR... such an amazing work.
But hey, Dasa Drndic is terrific. I haven’t read Doppelgänger, but EEG is really good. Probably something you’d enjoy.
I concur with Harold. I'd add Trieste to the list. Here's a short interview of Drndic from the Paris Review: https://www.theparisreview.org/blog/2017/08/21/there-are-no-small-fascisms-interview-with-dasa-drndic/
The video won’t play.
Youtube is having some sort of issue, sorry about that. https://www.theverge.com/2020/11/11/21561764/youtube-down-outage-loading-videos
