This is a real motivator to read one of the most intimidating American classics. I recently read this article and wondered if you did also?https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/25/books/review/the-saddest-words-michael-gorra.html
I have not yet, thank you, I'll check it out.
Hi Cliff ...I’m in the middle of “ Light in August “ and just taking my time with Faulkner’s rich prose ..just to rich to gulp down quickly . .Faulkner has long been on my bookshelf taunting me ..after finishing Ulysses recently and loving that one ..I thought it was time to give another Modernist a go ! Sound and the Fury is next up ..and Absalom , Absalom ! After that ! I’m a new listener ..thank you for your wonderful reviews !
Great review! Have been meaning to get in to some Faulkner. You said at one point it turns out you should have read the two books the other way around - would you recommend starting with The Sound and the Fury over Absalom, Absalom! ?
Thanks a bunch, I would yes.
Love the new lighting setup! Much more dynamic.
